4th of July in Indianapolis
This year the 4th of July falls in the middle of the week in Indianapolis but there is plenty of events that will be taking place throughout the city.Enjoy all of the festivities with friends and family no matter where in Indianapolis you plan to go. We put together a few things that can be enjoyed for FREE and also a few things that can be great for turning the day into a romantic and fun outing with a loved one or friends.
Indiana War Memorial
On the grounds of the Indiana War Memorial there will be the Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast! It is a great event in which you can take your family and bring blankets with you. There will be plenty of things to do throughout the Indiana War Memorial in which you can enjoy before the start of the fireworks show. The downtown fireworks will be going off from the Regions Bank Building just before 10:00 pm.
White River State Park
Make plans to head out to White River State Park and enjoy the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art. The visit provides FREE admission between 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Make your way to the event and check out Evil Knievel’s bike and chopper made on the show American Chopper. Enjoy and experience this exhibit with your family and also make sure to check out the Steel Ponies (custom motorcycle exhibit).
Indiana History Center
Make your way to the Indiana History Center and enjoy a FREE concert at the Canal between 5:00-9:30pm. Enjoy patriotic music as well as marches from the Municipal Band, New Orleans Rhythm, and The Impalas. Plan a night on the town by making your way to the Terrace where you can get a great view of the fireworks display. Tables for four are $35; $30 IHS members, tables for eight are $45; $40 IHS members, and individual seating at a community table for $8; $7 for members. Fountain Square Theatre
Enjoy the 4th of July Fireworks in Indianapolis by making your way to the 11th annual Rooftop 4th of July Celebration. Located at the Fountain Square Theatre you can enjoy dinner and the Downtown fireworks from the Rooftop Garden. This event will start at 7:00pm-10:30pm and tickets are $70 per guest (includes tax & gratuity) and all guests must be 21 years and older. Visit Fountain Square Indy for the full event and for the special hours scheduled for the 4th of July.
4th of July in Indianapolis
