55th Annual Indiana Flower and Patio Show – Indiana State Fairgrounds

The 55th Annual Indiana Flower and Patio Show is taking place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This week long event is available for everyone of any age. Since 1958 this Flower and Garden Show provide a finer outdoor living show for everyone to enjoy. With 40+ exhibit gardens you can listen to some of the landscapers and outdoor living experts for the spring time gardening. You learn on being a better garden and can purchase outdoor living products and services. The week long show will start at 10AM and provides children ages 12 and under with free admission.

This week is all about reading when you make your way to the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis. Being able to provide your children with the fundamentals for reading can go a long way and parents know that. This entire week is filled with a lot of different events in which children can enjoy while also visiting the many different things to do at the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis.

Throughout the week there will be a variety of different events that take place throughout the week of March 1st-8th.

Celebrate Seuss and National Read Across America Day. March 1 – 10:30am – noon
Celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday with a book reading and special guest Cat in the Hat. Children receive a Dr. Seuss bookmark.

Target Free Family Night: Read All About It! March 7 – 4pm – 8pm
Free museum admission. Children receive a free copy of a Percy Jackson book.

Scholastic Book Fair March 7 noon – 7:30pm, March 8 10am – 4:30pm, March 9, 10am – 4:30pm. Purchase books for your home library. Variety of books for all ages.

Book & Bytes Fridays From March 8-22, 10:30am.
Preschoolers are invited for stories songs and rhymes.

President’s Day at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

On Monday February 18th is President’s Day and a great place to take your kids who may be in their short vacation from school is The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. There will be activities planned from 10am-3pm and admission to the Children’s Museum is Free from 10am-5pm. When you visit the museum you can enjoy the history lesson and discover the Presidential lineage. The United States 16th President Abraham Lincoln will be around providing a meet and greet for all of those who want to see him in person, plus get to learn a lot of facts and information regarding some of the different Presidents.

Midwinter Dance Festival

Midwinter Dance Festival is taking place this weekend on February 15 and February 16 at the Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis Indiana, the shows start at 8pm on Friday and Saturday. You can enjoy a great show and enjoy a night of dance and entertainment. If you are looking for something to do you want to make your way into this event during the weekend. With the show being about ballet you can get your tickets and provide your significant other with tickets to one of the 2 different venues currently taking place here in Indianapolis.

Travel to enjoy what the Butler Ballet is capable of providing the visitors with. With choreographic moves from classic ballet and a modern approach for the 2st century prepared by the member of the faculty. Indianapolis Motorcycle Show has made its way to the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. With the event starting on Friday February 15th through Sunday February 17th you can enjoy a great outing for you and your friends. If you are a motorcycle enthusiast this is the destination for you and your friends. Are you introducing your kids to motorcycles that they can actually sit on? You can make it a family event. This is the first time in Indianapolis where you will be able to see the latest gears and accessories that are available for you to check out. You will be able to check out all of the different types of bikes available such as the hottest street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, scooters, ATV’s in which you can see and also ride on, and side by sides. There are a lot of different and entertaining things to do as you experience the motorcycle world first hand. You can go one day or go all three days that the Indianapolis Motorcycle Show is going to be available for. You will have the opportunity of experiencing one of a kind motorcycles that you may never find on the road and are fortunate to ever see one in person.

Martin Luther King Day In Indianapolis

On January 21st there will be a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. and all of his accomplishments and the voice of a generation that was able to accomplish a lot more than most of us can say. With equal rights being his goal he was capable of accomplishing a lot. There are plenty of events that will take place throughout Indianapolis Indiana in celebration of MLK that are available throughout the entire weekend.

You can also make plans to travel to the Indianapolis Museum of Art where they will be providing a lot of different activities for all ages. You can take part of the different events that are taking place throughout the day to help you enjoy and appreciate the different things that Martin Luther King did. You will be able to enjoy the visual elements provided by IMA and can visit the exhibit currently running of American Legacy: Norell, Blass, Halston, and Sprouse.

January 17th Travel to the Indiana Statehouse as they celebrate the 22nd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Celebration with keynote speaker former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Gary Brackett.

On January 20th there will be the 44th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Dinner at the Indiana Roof Ballroom at 6pm. This dinner is a way to network and make dialogue, the dinner is presented by the Black Student Union with the support of the Office of Student Involvement. There will be a feature speaker Bobby Seale who founded the Black Panther Party in 1966.

On January 21st the Children’s Museum Indianapolis provides a free day at the museum. In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day this coming Monday.

Indiana Flea Market At Indiana Fairgrounds

Get ready to make plans and travel to the Indiana State Fairgrounds on January 18th where you can enjoy the Indiana Flea Market. If you have never been you can enjoy traveling to one of the over 200 booths where you can enjoy the FREE admission throughout the entire three day weekend. Just make your way to the Agriculture Horticulture Building where you can soak in the full experience available in the Indiana Flea Market.

If you are a regular then you know what to expect when you go to one of these events but if you are not you will enjoy the antiques, crafts, jewelry, and plenty of bath and body supplies.

Indiana Pacers 2012-2013 Season

The new NBA season is about to begin for the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The beginning of a new season is going to start with a preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Last year the Indiana Pacers finished the 2011-2012 season with a 42-24 record and finished 3rd in the Eastern Conference. They made a push into the second round of the playoffs where they lost to the Miami Heat in 6 games (4-2).

A lot of the main players for the Indiana Pacers are still there. Making the young team slowly continue to move forward and become a threat in the Eastern Conference once again. Some of the new faces that you will see potentially hit the court are draft picks Guard Orlando Johnson, Center Luke Nevill, and Miles Plumlee Power Forward from Duke University. You will find a lot of familiar faces that were with the team last year such as Slam Dunk Contestant Paul George, All-Star Roy Hibbert, David West, and Danny Granger. With West and Granger they are the most veteran members of the team with both having 9 and 7 years in the league. The closest is a 4 year veteran.

There are high hopes for Frank Vogel and the Indiana Pacers as they make another push to the playoffs. How far do you think the Pacers are going to go this year? Playoffs? Past the second round? Can they compete with the elite teams at a high level? What are your thoughts on this incoming team.

If you are into antiques and vintage advertising from 28 states that converge at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. You will be able to check out the collectables available for viewing and purchase. You will be able to enjoy the event and check out a lot of the different schedules that are planned for the 2 day event. You will be able to celebrate 40 years of the Antique Advertising Show.

If you plan on visiting on both days Sept. 28 and 29from 2pm-6pm the cost is $50. If you are looking for tickets on Saturday September 28th then you will be able to get tickets at $8 and the hours are at 9am-4pm. Children under the age of 12 have free admission.
